linkerd-control-plane
Image · Coordination & mesh · standard
Linkerd's control plane `controller` binary (destination, identity, proxy-injector, sp-validator, service-mirror, heartbeat -- one binary, role chosen by subcommand), built from source on Wolfi. Tracks Linkerd's edge-YY.M.P releases -- linkerd/linkerd2 has cut only edge builds since stable-2.14.10 (2024-02-20), Buoyant gates true "stable" builds commercially. Ships the newest patch of the last 3 edge year.month lines (26.6/26.7/26.8). Boots against a baked-in, unreachable kubeconfig for the standalone smoke test; a real deployment points it at a live cluster via the chart.

Verify the supply chain
This image is cosign-signed and carries an SPDX SBOM and a SLSA build-provenance attestation on the same digest. Check all three yourself:

Transparency
Every image carries its SBOM and provenance as attestations on the same digest, publicly verifiable with the commands above (they check the package and the Sigstore transparency log, Rekor).
